New Year Resolutions

We've all started a new year resolution that we have no intention on following through with. We will set the same one year after year and by the 3rd of Jan it's all gone to pop.

Heres a list 6 popular new year resolutions, maybe we'll manage one or two?

1. Exercise more - Most of us would love to be those people that wake up and 6am and go for a jog. I've tried it (admittedly not so early in the day) and it's really not that easy. I do enjoy a run but my headphones are always falling out, my dog trips me up an my ears get cold in the wind. Maybe I'd be better on a treadmill or avoiding a fast pace altogether.

2. Lose weight - This relates to number 1. Yes it might be nice to shift a few pounds but first, is it really necessary? I think instead of losing weight or trying to change your body shape it would be a better resolution to accept however you are and be happy about it. You are the only you, so own it.

3. Educate yourself - You might have been watching Christmas films with families singing around a grand piano and randomly decide that this year you will become a master the skill of being a pianist. It is only natural for us to want to be able to do all sorts of things, including the impossible. Whether you're considering a new hobby or learning a new skill make sure you're genuinely committed before spending money on it. We've all been there.

4. Eat healthy - The food we put into our bodies is essential to our health and well being. It's an important point on this list but easier said than done. The best way with this one is to start swapping sugary snacks for nuts or dried fruit and portion control at dinner time.

5. Do more - Some of us just have the urge to do more things in general. To travel more, read more, drink more water. The bottom line is just spend your free days doing whatever you love the most because your time is irreplaceable. So if a day of Netflix and pyjamas is what you need then go for it!

6. Save money - This is one I think everyone would like to be good at. We all want to save money but at the same time it's the mentality of if you died tomorrow what good will the savings in your bank do? Decisions, decisions. Maybe just treat yourself instead then.

Whatever new year resolutions are heading your way this coming year I wish you the best of luck! Stick to your guns and do whats best for yourself.
