Bucharest, Romania

Here is a compilation of photos from my trip to Bucharest in 2018. I visited during the peak of summer which I would not recommend doing because walking round was so hot and sweaty. 

The city is beautiful though and buzzing with life. It’s completely different from the other parts of Romania that I’ve visited, it is really such a lovely place. It’s a top destination for stag do’s and hen parties since it’s so cheap to drink and I know lots of people go there for long weekends.

It’s a really cool place for a city break, the architecture on some of the buildings is incredible and great for photography or projects. Buildings to see there include the Palace, the National library and churches. I wish I’d been able to spend more time there so that I could have done a longer photo session but as I used to live just over the border in Bulgaria, it made sense just to go for the day. 

There are numerous shops and restaurants to keep you occupied throughout the day. I went to Kilkenny’s Irish pub and restaurant and ordered the biggest portion of nachos I’ve ever seen in my life and made the mistake of ordering a chicken burger to go with them too.

I walked past a cute little cafe that serves all types of cereal imaginable which is ideal if you want breakfast on the go. 

I did visit Bucharest again closer to Christmas 2018 which was filled with Christmas markets but it was ice cold and way too cold for me to have my bare hands out to work my camera so I don’t have many photos from that occasion. 

I hope you like the photos, maybe they’ll convince you to look at a weekend away in Bucharest.
