1. Royal Alcázar - Seville
One of the most visited complexes in the World, the Royal Alcázar of Seville is definitely high up on the list for somewhere to visit. The palace was built for King Peter of Castile in the 14th century; it is now a monument that fully represents the Mediterranean culture. You can visit any time with the weather in Southern Spain being pretty kind all year round.

2. La Sagrada Família - Barcelona
The iconic basilica designed by Gaudi has been under construction since the late 1800s. The cathedral shows off Spanish Gothic architecture in a completely breathtaking way. Gaudi's intention for the build was for it to be a representation of nativity, a symbol of life and creation.

3. The Alhambra - Granada
This fortress, existing since the 9th century, is a true place of admiration. Alhambra is a name that comes from an Arabic root, meaning "red or crimson castle". This is believed to be due to the fact that the silver towers and walls are transformed into a warm gold in the sunlight.

4. Lekeitio - Basque Country
Lekeitio is a cosy and quiet fishing town towards the north of Spain. Every summer the town livens up the streets with a celebration in honour of San Pedro. The tradition is to have a seafood dinner and sip on Sagardoa which is a fermented cider loved by the locals.

5. La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias - Valencia
The City of Arts and Sciences is a centre for leisure and culture, designed in a futuristic style. In the centre you can view laser shows, visit the Planetarium, and perform hands on experiments or even to host an event there. The design is phenomenal, if you are interested in design or architecture it is a huge, inspiring, must see structure.

6. Buñol - Valencia
The World's biggest food fight - thousands of people fill the streets with sloppy tomatoes at Spain's Tomatina festival. The tradition goes back to the 1940s and is said to have been inspired by angry townspeople who hurled tomatoes at city councilmen.

7. Sigüenza - Guadalajara
Sigüenza is a medieval city in central Spain, well known for its centuries old architecture including Sigüenza castle and Santa Maria cathedral which is gothic and fortress like. The whole city contains beautiful historic buildings, surrounding that is Barranco del Río Dulce Natural Park with a hiking route that passes through waterfalls and rivers.

8. Ronda - Andalucia
One of the most beautiful places in Spain. It is full of bars & restaurants with mouth watering foods that you can enjoy in the open square and down the side streets. One of the main attractions to the town is the view from the Tajo (bridge) where you can look over the edge from the top or travel your way down to the river at the bottom.

9. Zahara de la Sierra – Cádiz
Zahara de la Sierra is a historic site in the natural park Sierra de Grazalema. There is a cute man-made beach, from there you can see the most amazing views of the white houses that make up the village.

10. Tarifa beach – Cádiz
Tarifa is full of white sandy beaches and blue waters with views over the Rif Mountains of North Africa across the Ocean. The location has been established as a true surfers paradise due to its wind conditions.

11. Palacio Real de Madrid – Madrid
Spain´s capital has many attractions to offer; one of them being the Royal palace. You are allowed to go into the Palace for a proper tourist visit where you can have a tour to learn about the history and culture. The Palace contains 3,418 rooms and has the largest floor area in any building in Europe so bring your walking shoes!

12. Segovia – Madrid
The Segovia aqueduct is one of the largest symbol’s of Rome’s influence in Spain. It is believed to have been constructed around the first century.

13. Palma Cathedral – Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands)
If you plan to visit Mallorca then head over to the islands capital and check out the incredible architecture of Palma Cathedral, often referred to as La Seu.

14. Alcazar of Sergovia - Madrid
A fairytale palace in Spain, originally built as a fortress but was later turned into a palace and a military academy. The full tour of the place is highly recommended.

15. Timanfaya National Park – Lanzarote (Canary Islands)
If you want to see beaches, volcanoes or ride a camel – you can visit this National Park. The unique landscapes are the result of erupting volcanoes that took places between 1720 and 1736, and then again in 1824. The variety in terrain colours along with the lack of vegetation make Timanfaya otherworldly.

16. Casa Milà – Barcelona
Well know as “The Stone Quarry”, Casa Milà, is a modernist building located in Barcelona. It was designed by Gaudí and the building was finished by 1912. While you’re there check out Casa Batlló too.

17. Park Güell - Barcelona
The Park is made up of gardens and colourful architectural elements created by Gaudí. It opened in 1926 after beginning construction in 1900 and is a public park.

18. Plaza Mayor – Madrid
The 17th century Plaza has 237 balconies facing the square’s centre with a sculpture of Felipe III on his horse. This place will have take your breath away.

19. The Patios – Córdoba
These small courtyeards are notorious for their beautiful decorations. Visit these incredible patios in the evening to avoid crowds and get a better view.

20. Estepona – Málaga
The hidden treasure that is Estepona - filled with sweet little lanes and tapas bars. The local beach is a pretty chilled spot too with it never being too busy.
